Making sure your resource centre is accessible
In choosing and developing your resource centre consider:
- Can the community get to your venue easily?
- Is there public transport?
- Can visitors park?
- What will you do about disabled access? (this is a legal requirement in new and converted buildings)
- Can the community find you easily?
- Is the building visible?
- Is it in or close to a place where people would naturally go or congregate?
Is its location or image likely to put some groups off? (Women? ethnic minorities? Older people?)
